Email address — when you request a PDF estimate or sign up for price alerts
Name and role — when you unlock a full estimate
ZIP code — to provide local pricing and contractor matches
Project description — to generate your materials estimate
Usage data — pages visited, features used (anonymized)

2. How We Use Your Information

To generate and deliver your materials estimate
To send you your estimate PDF by email (if requested)
To send weekly price alerts for your area (if opted in)
To improve our pricing accuracy and product features
To connect you with local contractors and suppliers (with your consent)

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with:

Contractors — only if you explicitly request a quote from a specific contractor
Service providers — including Resend (email delivery), Supabase (database hosting), Stripe (payment processing for web subscriptions), Google Analytics (website usage statistics), RevenueCat and Apple/Google (subscription management for the mobile app), and Anthropic (processes your project description to generate the AI estimate) — all under strict data protection agreements
Legal requirements — if required by law

4. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide our services. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at hello@stackbid.app. For Pro subscribers, we keep a record of your subscription consent (email, timestamp, and the terms you agreed to) as required to document compliance with subscription billing regulations.

California residents have the right to:

Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data)

6. Cookies

We use minimal cookies for functionality (e.g., remembering your estimate preferences). We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used; it sets cookies and collects usage data such as pages viewed and button clicks. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell this data. You can block cookies in your browser settings or opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure database access controls, and rate limiting to protect your information.

8. Children's Privacy

StackBid is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
